Welcome to Iran! Transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon (variable schedule based on arrival flights), we will begin the visit to TEHRAN, the capital of the country, a modern city with almost ten million inhabitants. We enter the Tajrish Bazar, a small and active bazaar full of activity and life. Inside we visit the Imamzadeh Saleh Sanctuary, one of the most popular Shiite shrines in Iran, magnificent blue architecture, dedicated to a descendant of the prophet. Tehran is on the slope of the Alborz Mountain range, some peaks exceed 5000 meters, and at its foot - on the edge of Tehran - is DARBAND VILLAGE, with its mountain atmosphere, its waterfalls, its green paths, its numerous Tea houses and its restaurants. Tehran.-
We include a visit (with guide and tickets included) to the great metropolis. We begin by going to the 437 meters high MILAD TOWER, its views are impressive (if it´s a foggy day with low visibility, instead of the Milad Tower we will go to the Azadi Tower). We visit the National Museum, the largest historical and archaeological museum in the country, where we can learn more about this land, the cradle of civilizations. Afterwards, we visit the Golestan Palace, declared a world heritage site by UNESCO, a site of palaces and gardens which construction began in the 16th century. Lunch included.
14.00 hrs.- In the afternoon, we will visit the National Jewelry Museum, property of the central bank, an amazing collection of precious stones and metals, highlighting the “peacock throne” and the “earth globe”. Free time; we will drop you off in the Grand Bazaar area, with its many covered streets, alleys and hundreds of shops.
Note: Sometimes the jewelry museum is not open, in that case, we would visit the carpet museum that shows Persian carpets, some from the 16th century.
Tehran - Qazvin - Rasth.-

10.15 a.m. - Qazvin, arrival in what is considered the capital of Iranian calligraphy. We are in one of the oldest cities in Iran known as "Little Isfahan" because of the similar Safavid constructions of both cities. During our visit, we will explore the Atiq Mosque, one of the oldest mosques in Iran, the Aminiha House, a luxurious 19th century dwelling, the Chehel Sotoun Palace (where the calligraphy museum is located), with its beautiful gardens, the monumental Ali Qapu Gate, the Mausoleum of Hamdollah Mostofi, a 14th-century geographer and historian, and the magnificently restored ancient caravanserai. 16.00 hrs- Qazvín, departure. We continue our route, crossing the mountain range that separates the interior of Iran from the Caspian Sea. Mountains, forests and green landscapes
18.45 hrs- Rasht, arrival in the largest city of the Caspian region in Iran. Before going to the hotel, we´ll have time for a stroll through its traditional bazaar and Mohtasham Garden, the city´s park. Accommodation.

09.30 hrs- Bandar Anzali. We are on the Caspian Sea, in fact, an inland lake, in a port city 24 meters below sea level. We´ll visit the Russian bazaar and include a boat trip on the Anzali Lagoon, inhabited by numerous birds.
11.30 hrs- Bandar Anzali- Departure. We will cross again the mountain range with its beautiful green landscapes and large forests, so different from other regions of Iran. Lunch included.
16.00 hrs- Glass Bridge of Hir. Stop at this 208 m long and 100 m high curved glass bridge, very popular with Iranian tourists. Do you dare to go on it? We will enjoy the beautiful landscapes of this place.

Sar-Eyn - Ardabil - Tabriz

08.30 hrs- Sar-Eyn- after breakfast, we approach the border of Azerbaijan.
09.15 hrs- Ardabil. Stop in this Iranian city of Azeri culture very close to the border with Azerbaijan where we will visit the Mausoleum of Sheikh Safi al-Din, a historical complex that houses the tomb of the religious leader and Sufi poet, Sheikh Safi al-Din. This mausoleum is an important pilgrimage site and an impressive example of Islamic architecture, a World Heritage Site. We will also visit the Museum of Anthropology, with its traditional bath. Later, we will have free time to wander around its beautiful covered bazaar and the city center. Lunch included.
14.30 hrs- Ardabil, departure, we continue our journey.
18.30 hrs- Tabriz, arrival in the most important city of eastern Iran, capital of the region of East Azerbaijan, located in a fertile valley. Given its location, Tabriz has historically been an important crossroads of cultures and has been inhabited by people from all over the Middle East (Armenians, Azerbaijanis, Georgians, Kurds, Persians, Turks, Arabs, etc.). Today, its population is mostly Azeri-speaking. In the evening, we will walk through El-Goli Park, a pleasant park with a large lagoon in the center surrounded by small restaurants. Dinner included.
Tabriz.-
08.30 hrs- We visit TABRIZ, a city with just over one and a half million inhabitants. We will visit the blue mosque, built in the 15th century but badly damaged in an earthquake; we will visit the Azerbaijan museum where we will learn about its collections from different periods. We will also pass in front of the mausoleum of the poets, where we learn about the rich cultural heritage in poetry that Iran and Arg-e-Alishah have - remains of the great fortress and walls that the city had.
At the end of the morning we will leave the city, a little less than an hour away KANDOVAN, a very picturesque mountain town, for more than 800 years its inhabitants have resided in troglodyte homes, it reminds us of the Cappadocia region in Turkey. Lunch included.
In the afternoon we return to TABRIZ, you will have plenty of free time to visit the BAZAAR, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, the largest covered bazaar in the world, important for centuries because it is located on the Silk Road (cited by Marco Polo and Ibn Batuta), the carpet area stands out.
Tabriz - Jolfa.-

10.30 hrs- Jolfa, arrival to this small city on the border with Azerbaijan, historically inhabited by Armenians. We will visit the SAINT STEPANOS MONASTERY, an Armenian monastery declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, built in the 9th century (rebuilt after an earthquake in the 17th century). We also visit the Choopan chapel, walled under ocher mountains, and also a world heritage site, the Khaje Nazar Caravanserai, lunch included. A time for a walk next to the very pleasant Ruined Mill waterfalls. Free time.
Jolfa - Khoy - Urmia

09.30 hrs- Khoy, stop in this city that houses the tomb of Shams Tabrizi, a 13th century Persian mystic, poet and philosopher.

12.30 hrs- Urmia, Arrival. This city inhabited over 4000 years ago, legend says that Zoroaster was born here and that one of the wise men was buried here. The city located near the largest lake in Iran, with salt water and presenting vivid contrasts in its colors. We visit Urmia, a city known for its religious and ethnic diversity, home to a significant population of Christians, Orthodox, Chaldeans and the Assyrian community. We will visit some of its churches: Naneh Maryam Church was built in the 3rd century, being the oldest Christian temple in Asia. We also visit Maserkis church and Seh Gombad, a cylindrical tower from the 12th century and the Friday mosque.
Urmia - Tepe Hasanlu - Saholan Cave - Sanandaj

09.15 hrs- Tepe Hasanlu- stop to visit (entrance included) this archaeological site declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The remains of this ancient citadel date back to 7000 BC. The fabulous gold vase with reliefs of chariots and soldiers, dating back almost 3000 years, which is in a museum in Tehran, comes from this town.

11.45 hrs- Saholan Cave. Stop to visit this amazing cave, on the list of natural monuments of Iran, located at 1751m altitude, which consists of several inland lakes connected by water corridors that we visit by boat. In Kurdish, Saholan means "ice." Lunch included.

Sanandaj - Hamadan

11.00 hrs- Hamadan- Arrival in one of the oldest cities in the world, today a pleasant provincial capital of more than half a million inhabitants, located at almost two thousand meters above sea level. With a climate, usually cooler than in other regions, we start our visit in GANJNAMEH, a historical place five kilometers from Hamadan, at the foot of a large mountain, in a beautiful landscape between trees where we can see the ancient cuneiform inscriptions of the fifth century BC engraved in the rock. Time for a walk next to the waterfall. We include (sometimes closed due to weather conditions or other reasons) the cable car that takes us up the mountain, where we have a magnificent view, in winter, it is often snowy. Lunch included.
After lunch, we visit the museum of the war with Iraq, a monumental and magnificent museum that exhibits the Iranian vision of the war with Iraq that took place in the 80s and that makes us reflect and wish for peace on our planet. After that, we visit the archaeological site of Hegmataneh, and the museum about the city that existed at this point 2800 years ago. In the center of the city, we visit the Mausoleum-Museum of Avicenna, Persian genius, doctor, philosopher, astronomer and scientist who wrote almost 300 books. We will also pass by the place where the tomb of Baba Taher (poet of the 11th century) is located and the garden square where there is a large statue of a lion made in the time of Alexander the Great. During the visit, if possible, we will visit one of the places where Pahlevani/zoorkhaneh rituals are celebrated, a tradition of martial arts and athletics with which Persian warriors trained physically and spiritually. These rituals have been declared intangible world heritage, many of the instruments that appear are similar to those existing in today´s gymnasiums. Free time to stroll around the bazaar.
Hamadan - Qom - Kashan.-

11.45 a.m. - Qom, arrival in the provincial capital and one of the holiest Shiite religious centers in the Islamic world that houses the Mausoleum of Fatima Masuma, sister of the eighth Shiite Imam, Imam Reza. Tens of thousands of pilgrims visit Qom every year. Qom is known for being a major center of Shia Islamic studies and is home to numerous religious schools and seminaries, as well as Al-Mustafa Islamic University, which attracts students from all over the world. Accompanied by an Islamic scholar we will visit the sacred mausoleum (courtyards and outdoor areas) and he will introduce us to Islam in its Shiite branch, enveloping us in the atmosphere of this holy place. After that, we´ll visit Imam Khomeini´s house. Free time in the city´s bazaar, with its many shops specializing in prayer and religious objects. Lunch included.

16.45 hrs- Fin Garden, among arid landscapes, at the gates of Kashan, we will discover the wonderful Fin gardens dating back to the sixteenth century, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, in an area of thermal springs and surrounded by a wall. We´ll stroll through the gardens, the palace and the baths.

Kashan - Underground City - Caravanserai Abouzeyd - Abyaneh - Isfahan .-

08.30 hrs- Kashan, after breakfast we begin the panoramic tour of Kashan, where we visit the Agha Bozorg mosque/madrasa, a beautiful and original construction whose ground floor is occupied by the madrasa while on the upper floor is the great mosque that reminds us of the constructions made by the Persians in India. The center of Kashan has several ancient houses/palaces; We will visit one of them, the Boroujerdi house-museum, from the nineteenth century, where we will be surprised by its mural paintings, in which the rich merchant who built it wanted to show the places he had visited, and the ventilation system to give freshness to the palace in the summer. We will also enter the hammam "soltan bath", with its blue tiles it is one of the most beautiful historical baths in Iran. Flower drinks are typical in Kashan, so to get to know them, we will visit one of the factories-shops of these unique flower drinks, see how they are made and have a delicious tasting. Afterwards, we head to the outskirts of the city where the great archaeological site of Tappeh Sialk is located. We are impressed to know that there existed here a civilization, the Elamite, highly developed 7,500 years ago, one of the first of humanity.

16.15 hrs- Abyaneh, stop to get to know one of the most charming villages in Iran, in a valley 2500 meters above sea level. Its cool climate, red clay houses, its own cultural traditions (including an ancient dialect and traditional dress) and its mausoleum will leave us with indelible memories.

20.30 hrs- Isfahan. Arrival at the end of the day. We are in a city with an impressive architectural and cultural heritage: mosques, palaces, bridges and bazaars with delicious handicrafts. This city, inhabited for over 5000 years, was the capital of the Persian Empire. Upon arrival, we´ll walk across the historic Si-O-Se Pol Bridge, "the bridge of thirty-three arches" illuminated.
Isfahan.-
After breakfast we begin the visit of ISFAHAN, the main tourist destination of Iran, the third city of the country. We start by walking through the Armenian quarter; This community has lived here for centuries and has always been respected. We walk through its quiet streets and visit the cathedral (Kelisa-ye Vank), a small museum that allows us to learn about Armenian culture and history. We also visit the 17th century Bethlehem Church with its impressive frescoes. Afterwards we head to the historic center, making a first stop at the Jame Mosque, the largest mosque in Iran that still celebrates worship and we get emotional in its immense courtyard when we hear the call to prayer. This mosque has been declared a World Heritage Site. We continue to the main square of the city, Naghsh Jahan, one of the largest public squares in the world with more than half a kilometer in length, declared a World Heritage Site, and where the "three powers" are located: the political, with the Ali Qapu Palace that we will enter to see its view over the square; the commercial, with probably the best bazaar in Iran to buy handicrafts; and the religious one, with two mosques in the square. We visit the Imam Mosque, built 400 years ago with its various sections and blue tiles. Inside the venue, we meet with an imam who will talk to us about Islam and will be able to guide us in our doubts. Lunch included. In the afternoon, we visit the Chehel Sotun Palace, with its fountains, gardens, paintings and public bath. We also include the entrance to the Museum of Music, a small museum that shows us how Persia was the cradle of many of the instruments that are played today and we will attend a small concert of traditional Persian music to discover the great beauty of Iranian music. Isfahan - Izadkhast – Qalat – Shiraz.-

17.30 hrs- Shiraz. We are at the center of Persian culture, inhabited for more than 4000 years. A city of nightingales and poets, it was the capital of Persia for a period in the 18th century. In the afternoon we will visit 2 of the mausoleums of the great names of Persian literature born in Shiraz, the gardens and the mausoleum of Hafez of Shiraz, a Sufi poet and mystic of the 14th century and who today remains one of the most beloved figures by the Iranian people, who memorize his verses or seek advice in his texts and the gardens and mausoleum of Saadi, another great Persian poet of medieval times with a deep sensitivity. popular in this city.
Shiraz - Persepolis - Shiraz.-

08.30 hrs- Persepolis. This World Heritage Site was built 2700 years ago to be the capital of the Achaemenid empire. Its stone palaces, its carvings showing historical and ritual scenes, as well as details about the kings and the court, show us one of the first great cultures of humanity.
10.00 hrs- Persepolis, departure. Nearby we will visit Naghsh Rostam, the cemetery of the emperors with their tombs in the stone.
After the visit, we´ll return to Shiraz, where we´ll visit the Nasir Almolk Mosque (Pink Mosque) to admire the light filtering through the colorful stained glass windows, the Naranjestan Qavam Garden, and the Zandyeh compound, which includes the Vakil Bazaar, Saray-e Moshir, Vakil Mosque, Vakil Bath, and Karim Khan Citadel.
We will return to the hotel for a short break and before heading out for dinner with a local family in their home (Note: if there is a case this is not possible, a dinner in a restaurant with live music will be included).
Shiraz - Pasargad - Meymand - Rafsanjan.-

09.30 hrs- Pasargad. We will visit another impressive archaeological site declared a World Heritage Site, built 2600 years ago. Pasargad was the capital of the Achaemenid Empire under Cyrus the Great, and where his tomb is located.

14.00 hrs- Meymand, an impressive troglodyte village in the desert, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Meymand is believed to have been one of the oldest residences in Iran, dating back 12,000 years. Many of the inhabitants live in the 350 houses carved by hand among the rocks. Lunch included.

18.00 hrs- Rafsanjan, arrival in this small town in the desert where we will stay whose history dates back thousands of years and which is currently one of the largest pistachio production centers in the world. We will be able to see its beautiful "wind towers" that help keep homes cool since ancient times.
Rafsanjan – Mahan – Kerman.-

10.00 hrs- Mahan, we will stop in this quiet town famous for the mausoleum of a well-known dervish, mystic and poet of the 15th century. Later we will visit Bagh Shazdeh, a beautiful garden with springs and green trees in the middle of the desert declared a World Heritage Site.
13.00 hrs- Kerman. Arrival in the provincial capital. We are in a religious and conservative city that also has a Zoroastrian minority. We visit the Ganjali Khan enclosure, where the magnificent bazaar, the cistern and the old baths and caravanserai are located. Lunch included. In the afternoon, we´ll visit the Fathabad Garden, a historic garden in the middle of the desert on the outskirts of Kerman. Free time.
Kerman – Caravanserai Zeinodin – Sar Yazd – Yazd.-

12.15 hrs- Zeinodin, we make a stop to visit this 16th century caravanserai located on the ancient Silk Road, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. This is one of 999 inns built during the reign of Shah Abbas I to provide accommodation for travelers. Lunch included.

14.45 hrs- Arrival in Sar Yazd, a historic city where its great fortress built 1500 years ago stands out. Free time for a stoll.

17.00 hrs- Yazd, arrival in this emblematic beautiful desert city, with a historic center that is a World Heritage Site, winding streets, wind towers and brick and adobe houses. The city, founded 5000 years ago, is inhabited by people from different cultures, where 10% of the population follows the ancient religion of Zoroaster. Time for a stroll through its old town, which according to UNESCO is one of the oldest settlements in the world.
Yazd.-
After breakfast we will visit the city of Yazd, we will love its traditional atmosphere and the customs of its inhabitants. On the outskirts of the city, we will visit the Towers of Silence, where, according to Zoroastrian beliefs, corpses are deposited, considered impure, so that they do not contaminate the sacred elements: earth, water or fire. Later, in the historic center, we visit the Amir Chakhmaq compound, with its impressive three-story façade, which includes a caravanserai, cistern and public toilet. We also visit the Water Museum, to introduce us to the great construction works of underground canals, used for 2000 years, to preserve water from evaporation. Lunch included. In the afternoon, we visit the Fire Temple, a sacred place for the Zoroastrian community of fire worship, a fundamental symbol of their religion. It is said that the sacred fire of the temple has not stopped burning since 470 AD. We also visit the Dolat Abad garden, a World Heritage Site. Its 33.8-meter wind tower is the tallest adobe wind tower in the world.

09.30 hrs- Chak Chak, brief stop in this small mountain village with a sacred shrine for Zoroastrians. Every year, thousands of Zoroastrians from Iran, India, and other countries make a pilgrimage to this fire temple.

11.00 hrs- Kharanagh, we are in a historic mud-brick city whose name means "birthplace of the sun". We will be able to visit its castle, its caravanserai and its old stone bridge.

15.30 hrs- Garmeh, stop in what for many, is the most beautiful desert village in Iran. Surrounded by palm trees and with its spring of water, this adobe oasis village has been populated for more than 4,000 years and was a stop on the Silk Road.

10.30 hrs- Tabas, time to enjoy in the pleasant city known as "the bride of the desert" where we will visit the Golshan Garden, one of the most beautiful gardens in Iran, with its permanent waters and important vegetation in the desert.

16.45 hrs- Ferdows, arrival in this town on the edge of the desert, known for its excellent saffron and pomegranates and recently declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its "Qanat". Upon arrival we will head to Baghestan-e Olia to visit Baladeh Qanat and explore how the ancient Iranians used their technology to supply water in arid areas and desert regions centuries ago. Then, we will stroll through its tree-lined streets.
Ferdows- Gonabad Qasabeh – Torbat.-

09.00 hrs- Gonabad Qasabeh. Stop at this impressive new qanat that is part of the area´s network of qanats, built between 700 and 500 BC by the Achaemenid empire.

14.00 hrs- Torbat Jam, arrival in the small provincial capital located near the border with Afghanistan, inhabited by the Baluchis, an ethnic group of Sunni religion, known for their unique dance and music as an important cultural expression. We will listen to their music and their stories of victories and failures throughout history. After that, we´ll visit the mausoleum of Ahmad Jami, the Underground Mosque, the Tombstone of Sadooghi, the Dome of Firoozshahi and the Caravanserai of Jam.
Torbat – Mashhad.-

Note: Today we will spend the day in the city of Mashhad, arguably the holiest city in Iran. We recommend an attitude of respect and appropriate attire.

10.30 hrs- Mashhad, arrival. We are in a city full of strength, the holiest city in Iran, which, with its three million inhabitants, is also the second largest city in the country. The Haram, its massive shrine complex commemorating the martyrdom in 818 of the eighth Shiite imam, is a place of pilgrimage, attracting more than 20 million pilgrims a year. We will visit the shrine of Haram-e Razavi, with its dazzling blue domes and minarets that seem to transport us to the tales of the Arabian Nights. We must be respectful of our attire and surroundings (non-Muslims can access all outer courtyards, but they will not be allowed to enter the interior of holy buildings). We will also learn about the mausoleum of Nader Shah, who after his military campaigns returned with immense riches: the peacock throne, the Koh-i-Noor diamond and "700 elephants, 4,000 camels and 12,000 horses carrying chariots, all loaded with gold, silver and precious stones". Nader ordered that upon his return, Mughal craftsmen should build him a large tomb in the Mughal style: the Kakh-e-Khorshid, or "Palace of the Sun." Lunch included.
In the afternoon, we will also visit the Anthropological Museum located in the former public bath and the Darougheh House Palace. Free time.
Mashhad- Nishabur – Zafaraniyeh – Sabzevar.-

10.15 hrs- Nishabur, arrival and time to visit what was once one of the most prosperous cities in the country, on the ancient silk road, today its activity is focused on agriculture and turquoise mines. We will also visit the mausoleum and planetarium of Omar Khayam, a Persian mathematician and astronomer originally from this town, and the "wooden mosque" on the outskirts. Lunch included.
14.00 hrs- Nishabur, departure.
15.00 hrs- Zafaraniyeh, stop to visit a quiet village on the Silk Road that has maintained its old caravanserai, its old "ice house" and the remains of its great citadel.
16.00 hrs- Zafaraniyeh, departure.
16.45 hrs- Sabzevar, an active provincial capital whose history dates back to 1000BC, the city has several universities. Before going to the hotel, we will visit its main mosque. We suggest a stroll through its historic bazaar.

Landscapes: after a journey among so many deserts, today we will be surprised by the variety of landscapes in Iran; the Alborz mountain range separates us from the Caspian Sea, with its peaks of more than 5000 meters.
08.30 hrs- Sabzevar- departure. We find ourselves in a landscape of cloudy, green, humid and mountainous forest in the Alborz mountain range.
11.30 hrs- Abr, in the mountains, deviating from our path, we arrive at this village where its streams and the great humid forest take us to another world, we are in one of the most beautiful landscape in the country, frequently covered by fog and dense clouds, sometimes so thick that it seems that we could walk on them. Lunch included.
14.00 hrs- Abr, departure. On our route to Tehran there are numerous old caravanserai that offered accommodation for caravans, as we follow the Silk Road.
16.00 hrs- Damghan, we will visit the archaeological site of Tappeh Hessar which shows us that this small city has existed for 4000 years and was the capital of one of the areas conquered by Alexander the Great. They say Damghan pistachios are the best in the world, should we try them? We visit Tarikhaneh, the second oldest mosque in Iran with its tall minaret. Accommodation.

11.30 hrs- Garmsar, stop for a stroll in a small town inhabited mainly by the Tat, an ethnic minority that has its own language and customs. Lunch included.
13.00 hrs- Garmsar, departure.
13.15 hrs- Salt Mine (entrance included), Very close to Garmsar, we will stop to visit an impressive salt mine, with underground areas with immense rooms and columns and surprising colors.
15.15 hrs- Salt Mine departure.
18.00 hrs- Tehran, arrival
After breakfast, transfer to the airport and end of our services.
