Welcome to your C. de Viajes Europamundo tour! Departure from Budapest heading northeast towards Eger, a charming Baroque town renowned for its impressive castle, monumental cathedral, and nationally celebrated red wines. We include a visit to a local winery with wine tasting from the region. Free time to stroll through the historic center, filled with courtyards, cafés, and underground wine cellars. After lunch, we continue through forested landscapes to Lillafüred, a natural jewel nestled in the Bükk Mountains. Here we will enjoy a short walk through the gardens surrounding the Palota Hotel, built in Neo-Renaissance style, and descend to the Szinva Waterfall, the highest in Hungary. This fairy-tale setting, with terraces, trees, and the soothing sound of water, will undoubtedly be one of the most poetic moments of the day. If you wish, there will be the possibility to visit the Anna Cave, a natural treasure in Lillafüred (optional visit). A few kilometers away, we will make a panoramic stop in front of Diósgyőr Castle, a 13th-century medieval fortress currently under restoration, whose imposing silhouette still dominates the landscape of Miskolc. Brief time for photographs. We end the day in Miskolc, a city with an industrial past and emerging charm. Accommodation.

Breakfast. Today we cross the heart of the Great Hungarian Plain to discover the country’s most authentic soul. Our first stop will be Debrecen, Hungary’s second largest city and a historic center of Hungarian Protestantism. Its Great Reformed Church dominates elegant Kossuth Square, the vibrant heart of this lively university city. Free time to walk around or visit the Déri Museum, one of the most important museums in the country. After this visit, we continue across vast agricultural landscapes to Kecskemét, a charming town known for its distinctive Art Nouveau architecture. Here we will enjoy a walk through the historic center, dotted with buildings such as the colorful City Hall and the Cifra Palace, a local architectural symbol. Birthplace of composer Zoltán Kodály, Kecskemét blends visual harmony, musical heritage, and a relaxed atmosphere. Free dinner and accommodation.

Breakfast. In the morning, we head south into the Villány wine region, Hungary’s most prestigious area for red wines. We will visit a traditional vineyard or winery, where we will learn about the local wine production process and enjoy a guided tasting of emblematic varieties such as Kékfrankos or Portugieser. An authentic experience in direct contact with local producers, in a picturesque rural landscape of rolling vineyard-covered hills. We then continue to Pécs, a vibrant cultural city at the foot of the Mecsek Hills. We will stroll through its historic center, where Roman ruins, Ottoman mosques converted into churches, and the majestic St. Peter’s Cathedral coexist in harmony. With free time, we recommend visiting the Zsolnay Cultural Quarter, famous for its artistic ceramics, or relaxing on one of its lively terraces. In the afternoon, arrival in Hévíz, a peaceful town famous for its natural thermal lake, the largest in Europe. Free time to enjoy the surroundings. Accommodation.

Breakfast. We begin the last day of our journey with a short drive to Tapolca, a picturesque town on the northern shores of Lake Balaton. Its most unique attraction is the navigable cave beneath the town center, where visitors can glide in small boats through illuminated underground channels in an experience that is both surprising and magical. Free time to discover its quiet corners, the watermill, and the small streets around the artificial lake. We continue to the romantic Tihany Peninsula, one of Hungary’s most iconic locations. Its silhouette over Lake Balaton and the Benedictine Abbey overlooking the lake create one of the country’s most beautiful postcard views. We will walk through its charming historic center, where traditional thatched-roof houses coexist with craft shops and cafés scented with lavender. Free time for photos and shopping. In the afternoon, we head towards the outskirts of Székesfehérvár for one final unforgettable stop at Bory Castle, an architectural fantasy built stone by stone by a single man, sculptor Jenő Bory. Neo-Romanesque towers, symbolic sculptures, and dreamlike gardens bring the journey to a close with a message of art, passion, and perseverance. Return to Budapest at the end of the day.
